Road
There are two main road routes to Kyleakin, Isle of Skye.

A82 from Glasgow, you will travel through Loch Lomond, Glencoe and Fort William before turning off at Invergarry onto the A87 to Kyle. Then simply drive over the Skye Bridge and into Kyleakin village.

A82 down from Inverness past Loch Ness then turn onto the A87 at Invermoriston and follow the road which takes you over the Skye Bridge and into Kyleakin village.

Bus

Rail
Scotrail run trains from Glasgow - Mallaig via Fort William and from Inverness down the scenic Kyle Line to Kyle of Lochalsh however there is no Sunday service during the winter. For Timetable Click Here

Ferry

All year round- Caledonian Macbrayne - Mallaig to Armadale, for timetable click here

Caledonian Macbrayne run a ferry between Mallaig on the mainland and Armadale at the southern tip of Skye. To get to Mallaig turn off to the west from Fort William. You can also catch a train from Glasgow to Mallaig. This ferry is normally passenger only over Winter and does not carry cars during the off-tourist season.

Air
Although there is a small airstrip at Breakish on Skye, there are no commercial flights to the area. The nearest main airport is at Inverness. From there, British Airways fly to London Gatwick, Glasgow as well as Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Also, low-cost carrier Easyjet do flights to/from Luton airport by London.

Car Hire

Car hire from the usual national companies are available in Inverness and Glasgow. They have no offices or agents here on Skye, but you may hire a car from Sutherland's garage in Broadford on Skye. Delivery can be arranged to Kyleakin.
